This Park is a stunning natural reserve above Makarska town, the capital of Makarska Riviera. It is about 60 km from Split.

The distance between Split and Biokovo Nature Park depends on the route you choose:

  1. Welcome to the park! We want to remind you that the entrance fee is charged per person and might vary depending on the season and the activities you plan to do. To avoid surprises, we recommend you check the cost before you go.
  2. I  suggest wearing comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing to make the most of your visit. The weather in the mountains can change quickly, so it's always a good idea to bring layers. 
  3. Bring plenty of water and snacks, especially if you plan on hiking or biking.
  4. Be aware of your surroundings and stay on marked trails.
  5. The park is open year-round, but some facilities and trails may be closed during winter. THE PARK IS NOT OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR VISITING FROM 01.11. – 31.03.

From this viewpoint, a geological column offers a 3D overview of the cross-section of Mt. Biokovo's rock formation from its creation until today. The column includes a geological time chart, descriptions of various rock types, and their corresponding ages.

The viewpoint area is also equipped with parking and restroom facilities. It is reachable from the Biokovo road, which starts at the entrance to Biokovo Nature Park, about 6 km east of Makarska.

The road leads to the highest peak, Sv. Jure (St. George), at an elevation of 1762 meters, makes it Croatia's highest paved road.

The viewpoint plateau is 23 x 3 meters, offering a stunning view of the sea and islands. On sunny, windy days, it is possible to see Italy. A walk along the clear glass skywalk over the cliff's edge provides a bird's eye view of the Mt. Biokovo rocks edge of the cliffs.
